Kondaveedu Fort will be Developed as World-class Tourism Centre: Prathipati

The third-phase of  ‘Janmabhoomi-Maa Vooru’ programme was held in various parts of Guntur district on Saturday.

While AP Legislative Assembly Speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao participated in the event held at Sathenapalli, public representatives from the district including ministers and MLAs took part in the programme in their respective constituencies.

Agriculture Minister Prathipati Pulla Rao participated in the Janmabhoomi programme held at Kondaveedu in Yedlapadu mandal. Speaking on the occasion, he said that the historic Kondaveedu Fort will be developed as a world-class tourism center.

“We have already taken up the ghat road works of Kondaveedu Fort at an estimated cost of Rs. 40 crore and are making efforts to set up a zoological park, museum and a star hotel at Kondaveedu Hill,” he said. The government had alreahdy given land to ISKCON for taking up a temple project at a cost of `200 crore at Kondaveedu, he said.

Speaking on the occasion, District Collector Kantilal Dande said that the administration was striving to make both Narasaraopet and Chilakaluripet constituencies in the district as free from open defecation by constructing the required number of toilets. He also said that steps are on for construction of toilets in all schools. State agriculture department commissioner Dhanunjaya Reddy and others were present on the occasion
